RESOURCE 04 · ORCHESTRATION

From an enterprise objective to accountable work—without losing the process.

The Orchestrator turns business objectives into bounded missions for area Digital Workers. Each Worker grounds planning in the organisation’s Process Engine, then assigns typed tasks to people, connected systems, specialist AI capabilities or imported automations.

Enterprise goal

DECOMPOSITION

The objective is constrained before it is decomposed.

A target without metric, horizon, policy and accountable owner is not executable.

01

1 · Resolve context

Identify business area, metric, target, horizon, brand, market, channel, authority and constraints. Retrieve the active process version and current operating evidence.

02

2 · Build missions

Map the objective to process outcomes and dependencies; create missions with expected outputs, acceptance criteria, budget, deadline and escalation path.

03

3 · Plan tasks

Decompose missions into typed tasks and select an owner by capability, permission, availability, cost, confidence and process responsibility—not model preference alone.

04

4 · Execute and control

Invoke a system, workflow or AI capability within tool scopes. High-impact paths pause at named human checkpoints; failures follow fallback or escalation.

05

5 · Consolidate evidence

Validate returns, reconcile system effects, record citations and decision evidence, update mission state and replan only within allowed variance.

IMPORT PIPELINE

Import capabilities, contracts and configuration—not proprietary model weights.

Artiplane normalizes what a source can lawfully and technically expose.

01

Claude and OpenAI

Register model/provider configuration and reconstruct supported tool contracts from exported definitions or APIs. Map tool input/output with JSON Schema; bind organization/project references and credentials separately; retest behaviour under Artiplane policies.

02

AWS Bedrock

Map agent or model invocation configuration available through AWS APIs, IAM roles, knowledge-base references, action contracts and guardrails. Region and account boundaries remain explicit.

03

n8n

Import workflow JSON where export and node licensing permit; identify triggers, credentials by reference, expressions, webhooks and sub-workflows. Replace unsupported nodes, then test each branch and callback.

04

API / OpenAPI

Parse operations, parameters, request/response schemas and auth declarations. An administrator narrows callable operations, supplies secret references and maps outputs to canonical fashion objects.

05

MCP, JSON and templates

Discover MCP tools/resources through an approved server or import a versioned manifest. Validate schema, provenance and permissions; templates create a draft but never activate credentials or write authority.

06

Test and activate

Run schema, permission, injection, timeout, cost, fallback and human-gate tests in sandbox. Activation pins the source version, model route, tools, data scopes, policies and approver.

CONTROL MODEL

A Digital Worker has responsibility boundaries, not unlimited agency.

Plans are observable and every task has an expected return.

01

People

Receive judgement, negotiation, approval and exception tasks with explicit scope, deadline and escalation.

02

AI capabilities

Handle bounded analysis, extraction, comparison, forecasting or drafting with model route, tools, evidence and confidence requirements.

03

Systems and workflows

Execute deterministic reads and approved writes through existing applications and automations, with idempotency and reconciliation.

Continue through the architecture

Knowledge → systems → process → orchestration → experience.
